MAKE
REAL
MUSIC.

A 3-week production lab where students ages 10+ learn the real skills behind music and walk away with a finished track on Spotify and Apple Music.

SKILLS FIRST.
TOOLS ALWAYS EVOLVE.

Music has always evolved with its tools -- from live bands to drum machines, from sampling to plugins, from Pro Tools to AI. Every generation gets new tools. The ones who learn the fundamentals and embrace the tools win. BBA teaches both.

Live Bands Drum Machines Sampling DAWs Right Now
What We Actually Teach

REAL SKILLS.
MODERN
TOOLS.

The goal is not to make a beat in class and forget it. The goal is to leave knowing how to make music on your own -- anytime, anywhere, after BBA is over.

We teach the same fundamentals every professional producer uses. We just don't limit the tools. Students learn the craft first, then use every tool available to make something great.

01
The Foundation
HOW MUSIC IS BUILT

Rhythm, melody, arrangement, structure. The fundamentals every genre shares -- taught through making, not theory worksheets.

02
Sound and Production
HOW IT SOUNDS GOOD

Mixing, EQ, compression, effects. Why certain choices hit and others don't. The difference between a rough idea and a finished track.

03
Modern Tools
HOW PRODUCERS WORK TODAY

GarageBand, MIDI controllers, loops, and the professional tools producers actually use -- tools in service of the craft, not replacements for it.

04
The Release
HOW TO PUT IT OUT

Distribution, cover art, streaming platforms. Every student leaves knowing how to release music independently -- so they can keep going after BBA.

The Program

3 WEEKS.
ZERO TO
FINISHED.

Each session builds directly on the last. One session per week, two hours each, weekends only. By the end you have real skills and a real track on Spotify.

01
Week One
THE FOUNDATION
  • GarageBand -- tracks, loops, the timeline
  • Build a drum pattern: kick, snare, hi-hat
  • Add a bass line that locks with the kick
  • Layer a melody -- piano, synth, your vibe
  • Play it back and feel what you made
You leave with: A full 8-bar loop
02
Week Two
THE SAUCE
  • Mixing basics: volume, panning, clarity
  • Reverb and delay -- what they do, when to use them
  • Add texture: samples, chops, risers, ear candy
  • Make your beat hit harder and sound polished
  • Rough sketch becomes a real track
You leave with: A mixed, polished loop
03
Week Three
THE RELEASE
  • Arrangement: intro, verse, chorus, outro
  • Extend into a full track
  • Final mix pass, export, cover art
  • Group listening session
  • Your track goes live on Spotify and Apple Music
You leave with: A finished track on Spotify

MRS. [NAME]
Licensed Public School Teacher · 7 Years in the Classroom

The structure behind the creativity. With 7 years in public schools she knows how students actually learn -- and how to make it stick without feeling like homework. When parents ask "what will my student actually walk away knowing?" -- she's the reason the answer is real.

CRAFT + STRUCTURE.
BOTH IN THE ROOM.

Most programs are run by a musician who can't explain things clearly, or an educator who's never made a song. Bertz Beats Academy is both -- a husband and wife who each bring what the other can't.

🎓
Skills That Stay

Everything taught here works on any device, any DAW, forever. The tools change -- the fundamentals don't.

Professional Finishing

THE TOOLS
PROS USE.
STUDENTS LEARN.

Once the creative foundation is built -- the drums, the melody, the arrangement -- students learn to use the same finishing tools professional producers rely on today. Not as a shortcut. As a skill.

The beat starts with the student. Every creative decision -- tempo, key, sound selection, structure -- is theirs. Professional production tools then help take that raw creative work and make it sound like a finished, release-ready track. The ideas are always the student's. The tools just help them realize it fully.

Step One
STUDENT BUILDS THE BEAT

Drums, bass, melody, chords -- all made by the student in GarageBand using their own creative decisions. This is the core of what we teach.

Step Two
PROFESSIONAL TOOLS FINISH IT

Production tools polish, enhance, and elevate the student's original work -- the way a mixing engineer or producer would. Their vision, fully realized.

Hear It For Yourself

MADE IN
THE LAB.

This is what students walk away with. A real track, on Spotify, under their own name. Hit play.

The Graduation Moment

THEIR TRACK.
ON SPOTIFY.
FOREVER.

The Spotify release is not a gimmick -- it's the proof. Every student who completes the lab gets their finished track released on Spotify and Apple Music. Their name. Their song. Their cover art. No contracts -- the music is always theirs.

1
Final session -- export day

Track finished, mixed, mastered. They leave with the file that same day.

2
The countdown

We post the cohort tracklist -- names, titles, release date. Real pre-release energy.

3
Drop day

You get a text with the link. Your student searches their name on Spotify. That moment is unforgettable.

4
In the catalog forever

Every cohort adds to the Bertz Beats Academy catalog. A permanent record of every young producer who came through.

Their music. Always theirs.

No contracts. No ownership claims. No exclusivity. The release is the graduation gift -- proof they built something real. We also teach every student how to release music independently, so they can keep going long after the academy is over.

Questions

REAL
ANSWERS.

Does my student need any music experience? +
Zero. No reading music, no instruments, no prior knowledge. If your student can tell you what their favorite song is, they have everything they need to start.
What do they need to bring? +
Just themselves. Every piece of equipment is provided -- iPad, MIDI controller, headphones, everything. We set it up before they arrive.
What if my student misses a session? +
Their project saves and is waiting for them. We do a quick catch-up at the start of the next session. We recommend attending all 3 weeks for the full experience and the Spotify release.
What music style do you teach? +
Production fundamentals work across every genre. Each cohort works within a shared theme so instruction stays focused, but every student's creative choices are entirely their own. The skills they learn apply to any style of music.
How does the Spotify release work? +
After the final session we distribute every student's track to Spotify and Apple Music -- their artist name, their track title, their cover art. Goes live within a few days and stays permanently. The music always belongs to the student.
Will they actually be able to make music after the class? +
That's the whole point. GarageBand is free on every iPhone and iPad. The skills we teach work on any device, any software. Everything is designed to stick -- so they can keep making music independently long after BBA is over.
Can they continue after the 3 weeks? +
Yes -- we're building out continuing cohorts, advanced sessions, and future programs. Students who complete the core program get priority booking for everything coming next.
Where are classes held? +
In-person on weekends. When you book you'll receive the full address and session time details.
